Blackall is located approximately 950km north west of Brisbane and has a warm atmosphere set amongst a clean green setting with the main street lined with beautiful bottle trees old-style buildings and lovely well kept gardens.

Blackall is a small remote community with a population of 1833 within a Shire boundary of 16,363 sq km.  Blackall's economy is based within a rural environment plus a strong and thriving retail business and fast growing tourism industry. 

The most popular time to visit Blackall is during Autum, Winter and Spring when the weather allows for cool evenings and moderate days.  Summer conditions create a dry heat with minimal humidity. The people of Blackall are warm and friendly with many local characters willing to share a yarn with visitors to the area.

Blackall is able to offer many services required by families to enjoy a fulfilling safe and healthy lifestyle.  There are many programs for youth, families, aged care, education and sport.  Blackall is positioned within the artesian basin and is able to supply an abundance of high quality water suitable for drinking.
